COMPARE TOP BRANDS

If you are a new buyer of cbd products and concerned about making a mistake or getting ripped off it can be overwhelming to see how many companies and products there are.  It’s possible you could be better served by buying a well known product from a well reviewed company to start.  Then come back here after you learn more and buy something that looks better for you or your dog based on experience.

... or else you can just jump in and find something more effective or more local or better priced or just more appealing to start.  Go for it!  This section is not an attempt to drive people to buy only from a few brand names.  It’s an option to help the new buyer get in and out quickly with a first product they can be sure will be delivered as promised.  Note: I don’t sell any cannabis products or have affiliate relationships with any companies on this site - it’s information only.

Ideally, a good start to choosing a cbd product to take home is to talk to the manufacturer and regular users.  Then read as many reviews and and social media posts as you can stand (especially on Reddit and Instagram).  If you don't have the time right now to go through all that before buying something today, I've put together a list of well known and well reviewed companies you can just go with and trust they will deliver what you ordered and it will be the real thing. In time (when your first purchase runs out in about 30 days) you can come back here with added experience and more time and look a little deeper.

The TOP BRANDS list below is changed frequently.  Just because a cbd product you like (or make) isn’t in the list doesn’t mean I don't know it's one of the best up and coming products available. It might get get bumped down one day to make room for something new, then bumped back up again.  This list is just a snapshot taken today of what products I trust for beginners.

To see the range of articles and reviews I read to update this list, select the PUBLICATIONS section in the menu and look around for yourself. If you think I’m wrong in my choices or have missed something important, please CONTACT me so I can make changes.

    * Cbd products for sale that have no THC in the mix should clearly say so in the product info.  Be sure to call the company and ask if you aren't sure what you're ordering and if it contains THC, especially if you undergo drug tests for work or just don't want a psychoactive effect.  If you don't care about drug tests, CBD+THC products can provide the benefits of the 'entourage effect' and in some cases that can be more effective in treating pain.

If you want to compare the new cbd product brands, this is the place.  Company blogs are packed with testimonials and articles. Facebook pages are fun to browse.  Start to narrow the choice of what you're gonna buy down to a few brands that catch your eye.  Maybe you like the people.  Maybe a compassionate review touched you. If the price is good that can be the deciding factor, but keep in mind oftentimes you get what you pay for. Don't overthink it and get hung up until everything looks the same.  It's not all the same - every company brings something different to the table.

Jody wrote: Hi David. I looked briefly at your site this morning. It's great. I would have saved a few hours if I had seen it 10 days ago. I have been looking for CBD for our 10.5 year old Golden Retriever who has anxiety. After about three hours, I found two products.  I have used Treatables and then VET CBD. The latter seems to work well, doesn't add many calories (I hope) and has really reduced his anxiety.

Thank you Jody.  By reposting your message here I’m hoping you will inspire other users of cbd products to email me their stories. Some of these products are great; let’s figure out which ones and pass it on.

If I've learned anything by studying cbd products it's that there are many companies competing for a piece of the pie and while most are entirely truthful, some are not. And for those reviewers who say cbd doesn't work at all, that may be true for the product they tried, but I don't believe it's true for all cbd products. There are a few caveats. First, if the extract cbd oil is coming only from hemp seeds imported from who-knows-where, it might be soothing but not be that effective medicinally.  If a product is infused with oil that's been CO2 extracted from whole plants grown in Colorado and bred over generations to contain high CBD with a little THC (less than 5%) you might experience the "entourage" effect and think it works great. If the thc content of the extract mix is over 0.3% it might feel like it works a little better than If the thc content is under 0.3%.  If the cbd content in the mix is lower (5-10mg) you might not think it works as well as if you take a higher daily dose (30-100mg). But like all decisions there are tradeoffs - a larger dose costs more, sometimes much more. One thing is for sure: if you need to pass a drug test, you should definitely not consume any product with more than the legal 0.03%thc limit because it will show up.

The quality of the cbd itself depends on the strain grown and can vary greatly in its efficacy. You can't tell how effective a product will be by looking at the oil ...or the bottle. But you can look for certified lab results posted online at the manufacturer's website analyzing the batch of the product you intend to buy for its cbd and thc content as well as any impurities present. There is a belief by some that if a manufacturer doesn't provide a certified analysis online of the the cbd product they are selling, you don't know what you are getting and shouldn't buy it.

We're all on our own ultimately when deciding what cbd product to buy unless everyone just buys Charlotte's Web lol - the most famous brand out there. Let's just conclude by saying there are many well reviewed cbd out there and supporting your local grower can be a good choice as well.  If you have no idea what to get, search for and read reviews in the REVIEWS and PUBLICATIONS sections in our menu.  Go to a dispensary if you have one nearby and ask questions.  Ask your vet, for your dog. Then ask them again for yourself.  Look at the people that manufacture the products you like on their Facebook page. Do they look honest? Are they saying the right things? Do they have a return guarantee?

Keep moving through the list of the top cbd brands, narrowing the field until just before maximum overload. Then don't quit - thinking you'll come back later.  Take the last step.  Pick one product, buy it ...and you're outta here with something cool that you or your dog is gonna like. It's ok if this process goes too fast and a decision comes quickly.  You've got other things to do!

You can click around in the table below to quickly compare Facebook pages, Blogs and FAQs.  It will be cool when I finish filling it out.  I know!  ...soon - I'm working on the structure and requesting current info from the manufacturers.
