THE DAILY DOSE

THOUGHTS ON THE DAILY DOSE - IS THERE AGREEMENT?

If the cbd content in the mix is lower (5-10mg) you might not think it works as well as if you take a higher daily dose (30-100mg). But like all decisions there are tradeoffs - a larger dose costs more, sometimes much more.

DAILY DOSE FOR PEOPLE

Here are some links on dosing for people to bring you up to speed. If it seems complicated, it's not - you can just follow the instructions on the bottle. In our study of dosing so far an interesting point that keeps coming up is that the beneficial effect of cbd for people (or dogs) that really need relief comes at higher dose levels, sometimes much higher dose levels.  So start with a low dose, say 5mg cbd per day, and increase gradually until you hit the sweet spot where it feels right.  This can be up to 100 mg a day. Ask your doctor about dosing guidelines when you get a chance. Since most cbd products are legal, there's no need to stay in the dark on this subject.

Increasing the daily dose from 5mg to 100mg can be the difference between 10 drops a day and 50 drops a day, so at that point price can become a consideration. All i can offer in that regard before the cbd prices adjust is click the What's on Sale? link on our menu and check back frequently.

CW Hemp has come out recently with the same type of 'sweet spot' recommendation for dosing.  Click on their graphic below for more details.

ps. I don't mean to say that CW Hemp is following my lead or anyone else to make the 'sweet spot' recommendation lol.  They're way way ahead of the pack. Much respect!  I started to come to this conclusion by watching the cbd marijuana stocks like ZYNE, CARA and GWPH go up and down in price based on  their trial results.  Most trials start at way too low a dose and show little effect and the stock goes down.  When higher doses are used, the effect goes up and the stocks go back up.  When much higher doses are used for very sick people, the beneficial effect looks to be even more pronounced.  This is just anecdotal observations, the definitive trial results on dosing by these companies are still coming in so our best guess at this time remains to 'find the sweet spot'.

DAILY DOSE FOR DOGS

Let's take Applied Basic Science, based in Colorado, and use their C.H.O. PET canine tincture as an example of how to calculate a daily dose and administer it to your dog. C.H.O. PE is a cbd-infused tincture for dogs that comes as a liquid in a 15ml bottle. It is manufactured and sold by ABSC and can be bought online at appliedbasicscience.com. C.H.O. PET is named after the full-spectrum Colorado Hemp Oil they use.

There are 600mg of cbd in a 15ml bottle of C.H.O. PET as stated on the label.

600/15 = 40mg cbd per ml

a 20mg dose =0.5ml    (this is the daily dose on the label)

10mg dose=0.25ml   (half the daily dose is given 2x a day)

0.25ml dose =  5 drops (measure with eyedropper)

-- so give your dog 5 drops on their food 2x a day

-- if each dose is 0.025ml, then a 15ml bottle = a 1 month supply

As with people, an interesting point that keeps coming up is that the beneficial effect of cbd for dogs that really need relief comes at higher dose levels.  So start low, say 5mg cbd per day, and increase gradually until you hit the sweet spot for your dog which can be up to 100 mg a day for a large dog with compromised health.
